Game Design: Arcade Classics (Age 9-11)

The video games of today owe a lot to how they were made decades ago. Discover what it took to make a great game without realistic graphics and online multiplayer, as you program your very own arcade video game. Pulling from classics like Pac-Man and Space Invaders, learn how to make a simple gameplay loop that never grows old. Co-sponsored with Utah Division of Games.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Experience learning Unreal Engine software
  • Program essential game mechanics
  • Learn fundamentals of arcade game development
