Elementary Social Studies Methods ( T L 5380 )

In this course the emphasis is on learning how to teach as a process of learning to inquire. The course presents social studies as a distinct area of study and links theory and practice into the whole of children's learning in schools. Access to an elementary social studies classroom is required. Access to the Internet is required. University of Utah students must take this course on campus.

Prerequisite: Access to an elementary social studies classroom is required.

Class Note: Students taking the online version of this course must have: a computer and Internet connection; at least a basic understanding of Internet navigation; an email address and the ability send and receive email attachments; and Adobe Acrobat Reader. Educators considering this course for professional development/licensing purposes are strongly advised to consult with their state office of education licensing department prior to enrolling in this course.
