 Welcome to Distance Education at the University of Utah!Distance Education strives to further the outreach goals of the University of Utah by meeting the needs of people locally, nationally, and internationally who are seeking a flexible way to obtain college credit, complete required continuing education units in a specific profession, or to simply expand their knowledge. Distance Education provides quality courses online, in print, and through broadcast television. Many courses have open-entry/open exit enrollment sessions and can be completed at times and places that work for the student. Using innovative technological tools for our online courses and the most current content for our print courses, we develop and deliver high quality courses accepted for credit by most colleges and universities. Our courses and instructors are approved by the appropriate academic departments and our instructors are either currently teaching on campus or have taught in the past. Thirty-eight percent of our instructors have Doctoral degrees and 49% have Masters degrees. Our students frequently comment that our customer service team in the main Distance Education office is the best on campus.
