Nursing Programs at The University of Utah at St. George
Gerontology Graduate Certificate Program
The gerontology program, which began in 1972, is designed for persons
who want to work in the field of aging, those already active in the
field, and those who want to apply it to their current field of study.
The program is open to matriculated and non-matriculated students
at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels and to all persons
working in the aging field. The certificate program is a flexible,
practical, research-based program and prepares the student for career
opportunities or to become better prepared for personal and family
aging experiences. Areas of specialization include social service delivery,
administration and planning, research and evaluation, human development,
death and dying, family care-giving, healthy aging, care management,
and retirement communities, among others.
