Nursing Programs at The University of Utah at St. George
Master's of Science in Gerontology
The MS in Gerontology at the U began almost 15 years ago as the second
graduate degree program in gerontology in the entire intermountain
region. The primary areas of specialization are research/evaluation,
long-term care and aging services administration (home and community
based/institutional; government/private), educational gerontology,
and lifelong learning, and geriatric care management. Graduate students
also have the opportunity of developing individualized specializations
with the approval of their supervisory committees and the Associate
Director for Graduate Studies. Graduates of the MS Program will be
prepared to generate and disseminate knowledge, provide leadership
and quality services in the field of gerontology and apply knowledge
in academic, clinical, and public and private service settings in response
to the growing demands of an aging society.
