English Language Institute — Admissions and Application Information
Applicants seeking admission into the full-time, intensive program are expected to have graduated from an upper secondary school or its equivalent and have previously studied English a minimum of 3 years. Students who request an I-20 from ELI must complete the application form and return it with a $65 application fee and an official or notarized bank statement verifying financial support for the length of study desired (approximately $3,000 per session).
Upon receipt of the application form, $65 fee and necessary documents, ELI will mail the student a letter of acceptance and a Certificate of Eligibility (I-20). Express mail service is available, upon request. Please contact the ELI office for the actual charge to your country.
APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETE ONE MONTH BEFORE THE START OF THE SESSION
You
should apply at least two months in advance of the session you choose
to start your English study. Applications completed after the deadline
may not give you enough time to obtain your visa depending on the
visa wait time in your country. In this case, your I-20 would have
to be express mailed to you at your expense. To find out the visa
wait time for your country, visit
this State Dept. page. If you
cannot get your visa within four weeks and still arrive in time for
the beginning of school, then you should ask us to defer your I-20
until the next session.
