Besides its many recreational opportunities, Utah also boasts one of the world's top educational and research institutes—the University of Utah. With so much to see and learn, why not take advantage of the University's Explore Utah summer program, where learning is only half the fun?

More than just a trip, our program allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture, study and refine your English language skills and make lifelong friends as you visit scenic locations around the state. It's the perfect opportunity to gain a world-class education from the University of Utah and explore a region like no other place in the world.

Explore the Language

Enjoy a semi-intensive course of study, spending no more than three hours a day in class. Emphasizing integrated language skills and spoken communication, qualified instructors let you work at your own pace.

Explore the Community

Outside classroom activities let you explore Salt Lake City and neighboring cities such as Park City—site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Here's your chance to meet and interact with the people in the community as well as experience the history and culture of the American West.

Explore Utah's Natural Beauty

mountain biking in UtahA place of incomparable beauty, Utah boasts five national parks—all within a few hours' drive of Salt Lake City. Your specially designed tour includes several exciting sites such as Arches National Monument and Dead Horse Point State Park among others.

Course Schedule

Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. After lunch, students may be involved in optional activities. Homework assignments require students to interact with native speakers on and off campus. There will be one required activity per week. As part of the class, students will take a two-day trip to Southern Utah.

While studying, you can use many university facilities with your university ID card. You can use all sports facilities for a small fee. Unlimited use of public transportation which includes the train and buses is around $95. You will also be able to use the English Language Institute's state-of-the-art digital language learning laboratory during class time and on your own.

Cost

The cost of the program is $1,400 for all materials and activities, including the overnight trip to Moab, Utah and the river rafting trip. Homestay and on-campus housing is available at an additional cost.

Deposit, no refund, credited to your tuition upon arrival: $100 (due by two weeks before start of the session).
