EXPLORE UTAH! — Where learning English is only half the fun!

From the rugged Rocky Mountains in the north to the red rock canyons and plateaus in the south, Utah is as diverse as it is beautiful. Besides its many recreational opportunities, Utah also boasts one of the world's top educational and research institutes--the University of Utah. With so much to see and learn, why not take advantage of the University's Explore Utah program, where learning is only half the fun?

More than just a trip, our program allows you to immerse yourself in a new culture, study and refine your English language skills and make lifelong friends as you visit scenic locations around the state. It’s the perfect opportunity to gain a world-class education from the University of Utah and explore a region like no other place in the world.

Explore the Language
Enjoy a semi-intensive course of study, spending no more than three hours a day in class. Emphasizing integrated language skills and spoken communication, qualified instructors let you work at your own pace.

Explore the Community
Outside classroom activities let you explore Salt Lake City and neighboring cities such as Park City--site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Here's your chance to meet and interact with the people in the community as well as experience the history and culture of the American West.

2009 Course Date
July 6 through July 31

Course Schedule
Classes are held Monday through Friday on the University of Utah campus. Class time will be 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. After lunch, students may be involved in optional activities. Homework assignments require students to interact with native speakers on and off campus. There will be one required activity per week. As part of the class, students will take a two-day trip to Southern Utah.

While studying, you can use a lot of university facilities with your university ID card. You can use all sports facilities for a small fee. A University sponsored bus pass is available for only $51 which allows unlimited use of the local transportation system for the period of the course.

You will also be able to use the English Language Institute's state-of-the-art digital language learning laboratory during class time and on your own.

University of UtahWhat does it cost?
The cost of the program is $1,300 including tuition, activities, local transportation pass and two-day excursion. There will be a minimum of two activities each week, as well as a trip during the program. Dormitory or homestay accommodations available but not included.

A $25 non-refundable deposit is required and will be applied toward your tuition when you arrive.
