Beginning Ukulele (LLMT 433) / Lifelong Learning
George Harrison used to travel with two ukuleles, and, by many accounts, he was known to pass out ukes at dinner parties in his home. In this class we'll cover the colorful history of the ukulele, then quickly dive into playing tunes. You'll learn chords, fretting, and strumming techniques, as well as how to convert tunes from guitar songbooks to ukulele. Please bring a soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele with standard tuning (GCEA); the instructor will inspect your instrument for playability and make any recommendations. Transcriptions and a chord chart are included; please bring a 3-ring binder. Class is limited to 10.
