SHAWN MORGAN

I am an artist of the visual and tactile craft. I have a background in illustration and painting having studied at the Laguna Beach School of Art and the University of Vienna, in Vienna, Austria.

When I discovered quiltmaking I transferred my design training into fabric and have developed a love of the art of stitching. I have been trained at the hand of an award winning master quiltmaker, Carol Morgan-a charter member of the Utah Quilt Guild, as well as various workshops including Sandi Fox.

My training and expertise is in the the traditional method of hand piecing and hand quilting heirloom quality quilts with art gallery appeal. I served on the volunteer board and production team of the Desert Foundation Quilt Show and Auction for 10 years and have contributed numerous quilts for this benefit auction for the nearly 30 years of the show. I have taught numerous classes and workshops to children and adults. I find design inspiration for my quilts in everything from tesselated tile floors to the color palette of a winter landscape.
