Basic hiking class for beginning or experienced hikers. Core areas include safety, Leave-No-Trace, skills development, and natural resources management.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Online book and material fees may be added up until the first week of class. Students may opt out during the first two weeks of class. For more information, visit the Campus Store Inclusive Access Program's webpage. If you opt out, you will be responsible for obtaining the course materials yourself for the course.

Fall 2024 Section 1, Starting on: 09/04/2024

Hiking adventures await for beginning and/or experienced hikers. Practice hiking safety, Leave-No-Trace techniques & history, equipment, ecology, route finding, and natural resources management. No Camping. Class meets on-campus on Sep.4 only. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Field experiences will be Fridays, 9/6, 9/13, 9/20 from 1pm - 7pm.
