Commander's House

UTA/TRAX: The Commander’s House is located east of the Fort Douglas TRAX station. For more information, schedules, etc., see this page. From the Trax station proceed north to the foot of the Legacy Bridge. Cross the Bridge and proceed south east to the Commander’s House.
Driving Directions and Parking: Traveling north
on Foothill Blvd. or east on 500 South, turn onto Wasatch Drive.
At the first light (South Campus Dr.), turn east onto Hempstead Rd.
and enter Ft. Douglas. Travel East to stop sign at Ft. Douglas Blvd.
and turn north (left). Continue past Stillwell Field. Enter the parking
lot for the Commander's House by turning west (left) on the one-way
street just north of de Trobriand, immediately before the Officer's
Club. Parking at the Commander’s House is free only when classes are
in session. The lot is to the north of the building. Parking for people
with disabilities is available in this lot and also on the street on the
south side of the Commander's House. Overflow parking is available at the
University Guest House to the north. The Guest House lot is on the west side
of the building. Please let the Osher representative at your class know that
you have parked at the Guest House so we can notify the appropriate people.
Parking at other locations (e.g., Fort Douglas Museum, resident only parking) will most likely result
in a ticket. Osher is not able to reverse tickets issued in locations other
than the Commander's House lot (when classes are in session). Parking ticket
appeals should be directed to Commuter Services at 801-581-6415.
ADA Compliance
The Commander's House was constructed in the 1800s. Renovations have
made the south entrance to the building accessible to individuals with
disabilities. At the current time, the main floor of the building is
accessible to people with disabilities. Most Osher classes in this building
are held on the main floor. The kitchen area is a few steps down from
the main floor. If you have special needs, please contact the Osher office
ahead of time at 801-585-5442.
Salt Lake County Sports Complex (Steiner Aquatic Center)

Driving Directions and Parking: Traveling east on
500 S turn south onto Guardsman Way. The Complex is on the east side
of the road.
Health Sciences Education Building and Library

The Health
Sciences Education Building and Library are located in the University of Utah Health
Sciences Center, directly south of University Hospital, north of the College
of Nursing, east of the Utah State Health Department, and west of the
Eccles Institute of Human Genetics - just a short walk from the Commander's
House.

Heading north from Salt Lake City: Exit I-15 at 500 South (Exit 316). Go east
to Main Street; turn left (north) to 200 South; turn right (east). Bountiful
U of U is on the left.
Heading south from Ogden/northern Davis County: Exit I-15 at 500 West (Exit 317).
Head south to 400 North; turn left (east) to Main Street; turn right (south)
to 200 South; turn left (east). Bountiful U of U is on the left.
Parking is free
and adjacent to the building.

The building that accommodates the Bountiful/U of U was constructed in
1905. We have made many changes to make the building accessible to individuals
with disabilities. At the current time, the main floor of the building
is accessible to people with disabilities. Most Osher classes are held
on the main floor with the exception of studio art classes which are
