How do I take advantage of special events and lectures?

RSVPs are required for all special events. Osher members can RSVP for up to 4 events. Add events to your cart from the Special Events page or call our registration team at 801-585-5442 (select option 1). Mail in forms can be found in the back of the catalog or online here. Additional events may be requested 1 week in advance of the event. Call the office to check availability. If you are not yet a member you can purchase a membership here and then follow the instructions about how to RSVP.

Lunch and Learn Lectures are free and open to everyone! No RSVP is required. Current members are encourage to bring guests. If you are not yet a member please come as our guest and see what all the buzz is about. Sign up for the mailing and e-mail lists at the lecture or call the office in advance 801-585-5442 (option 2).

How do I take advantage of the community benefits?

To take advantage of community benefits just show your Osher Member Benefits Card. The card will be mailed to you when you join.

How do I get the 25% discount on courses offered through Continuing Education's Technology Education and Lifelong Learning programs?

Discounts are available on a space available basis. Call the respective office (Technology Education 801-581-6061 or Lifelong Learning 801-587-5433) four days before the class starts to inquire about availability and to register at the discounted price. To guarantee a space, register at full price anytime. Discounts will not be applied retroactively.

How do I get a student ID card?

Osher students can obtain a photo ID card at the University's "U-Card" office in the Union Building (see map) for a small fee. In addition to local venues, University ID cards often grant discounts at places far and wide. Show your U card at each venue to obtain eligible discounts.

Do I need to get a student ID card every term?

You can use the same card from term to term. Your student ID is "reactivated" every time you register for a course.

What if I lose my student ID card?

Replacement cards are obtained by showing proof of registration and paying the replacement fee at the UCARD office in the Union Building.

How do I gain access to campus facilities that provide benefits to Osher students?

Show your student ID card where ever you go to see what benefits may be available.

How do I take advantage of the Campus Recreation facilities?

Osher members registered for at least one course are eligible to purchase a campus recreation pass. The pass must be purchased from the Osher. Indicate your desire to purchase on the registration form or call the registration office at 801-585-5442, option 1.

If I opt for my contact information to be included in the Osher Member Directory with whom will it be shared?

The Osher Member Directory is only available to members of The Osher Institute. Members are advised to use the information in the directory only for personal use in connecting with fellow members.

I'd like to get to know my fellow members better. How can I get in touch with another member?

Members may opt to be included in the Osher Member Directory. Copies of the directory are available at classes or at the Osher office. If the person you wish to contact is not in the directory ask around. One of your fellow members may be able to put you in touch. The Osher office does not give out contact information for a member who has not opted to be included in the Member Directory.

I am not taking classes. How do I stay in touch with what is happening in Osher?

Sign up for our e-News! This will provide you with information in the timeliest manner. You will also receive newsletters in the mail and of course can visit this website.
