How much does it cost to take courses?

Courses prices are specific to each course. Follow the Classes link to the right for information about individual classes.

What additional fees apply?

To be eligible to take Osher courses you must be a member. See the membership page for more details. Some courses have special fees for course materials such as books and reading packets. Follow the Classes link for information about individual courses.

I don't want the book/handouts/materials covered by the special fee. Do I have to pay it?

In most cases special fees can be waived for students who choose not to receive the materials. Please call the Osher office for assistance.

Is there a way to reduce the cost or to spread out the payment?

A limited amount of scholarship funds are available. Please contact the office at 801-585-5442 to check on current availability of scholarship funds and to obtain an application form or follow this link and download the form (PDF file). Installment payment plans are not available.

Does The University of Utah's employee tuition reduction benefit apply to Osher courses?

Because Osher is an Institute, the U of U's tuition reduction benefit does not apply to membership or course fees.

Are scholarships available?

A limited amount of scholarship funds are available. Please contact the office at 801-585-5442 to check on current availability of scholarship funds and to obtain an application form or follow this link and download the form.

Do you offer refunds?

Because space in classes is limited and we have arranged to provide our students access to various University facilities, you may drop a course and receive a full tuition and fee refund only up until 4 days before the class starts. Membership fees cannot be credited or refunded.

How do I contribute to The Osher Institute?

Individual donors are making a difference in our community. Gracious friends and supporters like you and others allow us to offer a wide range of courses and programs and to bring the benefits of lifelong learning to more of Utah's 50 and over population. Follow this link to learn more about how to add your support. You can also specify a gift when you register. Your gift will be charged to your credit card along with your membership and course fees.
