How much does it cost to take courses?

Unlimited courses are included in the All You Can Learn Membership. For Osher members with Basic Membership, courses prices are specific to each course. Follow the Classes link to the right for a list of currently available classes. Follow the Membership link to the right for more information about membership options and benefits.

What additional fees apply?

To be eligible to take Osher courses you must be a member. See membership options page for more details. Some courses have special fees for course materials such as books and reading packets. See the class listing for fees that apply to individual courses.

I don't want the book/handouts/materials covered by the special fee. Do I have to pay it?

In most cases special fees can be waived upon request. Please call the Osher office for assistance.

Is there a way to reduce the cost or to spread out the payment?

A limited amount of scholarship funds are available. Please contact the office at 801-585-5442 to check on current availability of scholarship funds and to obtain an application form or follow this link and download the form (PDF file). Installment payment plans are not available.

Does The University of Utah's employee tuition reduction benefit apply to Osher courses?

Because Osher is a membership-based organization, the U of U's tuition reduction benefit does not apply to membership or course fees.

Are scholarships available?

A limited amount of scholarship funds are available. Please contact the office at 801-585-5442 to check on current availability of scholarship funds and to obtain an application form or follow this link and download the form.

Do you offer refunds?

Because space in classes is limited and we have arranged to provide our students access to various University facilities, course tuition and special fees cannot be refunded once the term starts. Membership fees cannot be credited or refunded except in cases of upgrading from a basic to an All You Can Learn membership within the first 30 days after purchase.

How do I contribute to The Osher Institute?

Individual donors are making a difference in our community. Gracious friends and supporters like you and others allow us to offer a wide range of courses and programs and to bring the benefits of lifelong learning to more of Utah's 50 and over population. Follow this link to learn more about how to add your support. You can also specify a gift when you register. Just tell the person taking your registration the amount of your gift and whether you'd like it to go to the general fund or the scholarship fund. Your gift will be charged to your credit card along with your membership and course fees.
