Professional Education Fire Service Leadership Academy: Leading an Agile Organization

The Leading an Agile Organization Certificate requires two phases of instruction. To obtain this certificate, participants must complete both Phase One and Phase Two curricula as outlined below:

PHASE ONE CURRICULUM - REGISTER (PROED 803)
Day 1:
Leading Organizational Change
Human Resource Management - Discipline

Day 2:
Media Relations
Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

Day 3:
Transnational Terrorism
Closing Remarks

PHASE TWO CURRICULUM - REGISTER (PROED 804)
Day 1:
Teams of Trust and Collaboration
Dealing with Difficult Conversations

Day 2:
Project and Productivity Management
Budgeting

Day 3:
Domestic Terrorism: Gang Violence
Academy Wrap-up, Networking Lunch, and Certificate Awards

Upon completion of the Fire Leadership Academy Leading an Agile Organization Certificate, you'll gain effective advanced leadership skills, including:

  • How to leverage advanced leadership skills and manage change
  • Budgeting and funding for Fire Service operations
  • Better project management skills
  • Enhanced strategic thinking and planning ability
  • Better team leadership skills, including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict, as well as mentor and coach
  • An opportunity to network with other fire professionals from across Utah

Upon completion of both Phase One and Phase Two of the Academy, fire professionals will earn the Fire Leadership Academy Leading an Agile Organization Certificate.
