In today's competitive job market, nonprofit organizations are increasingly faced with tough choices regarding recruiting, compensation, performance management, and retention. Learn how to address these issues and more, including selecting and recruiting the right people, managing your board, filling knowledge and skills gaps, motivating your staff, understanding federal and state compliance issues, and the latest trends in health benefits (and how much they cost).

Discover how knowledge of human resource principles and procedures can add value to nonprofit organizations and keep you in compliance. With more than 100 years of combined human resource expertise and experience, our instructors can help make your organization one of the state's top places to work!

The core strategy of the Nonprofit Academy for Excellence is a commitment to ethical management and enhanced professionalism among those engaged in the nonprofit sector whether as a staff member, board member, or volunteer. In these interactive classes, key concepts are demonstrated using examples provided by the instructors. Participants will practice what they have learned by developing and applying strategies to their own circumstances. Participants will also learn from each other and build relationships that are an essential part of successful fundraising endeavors.

Graduation from the Human Resource Management for Nonprofits Certificate Program requires completion of seven full days of training (50 contact hours). However, anyone may take any of the classes without acceptance into the Nonprofit Academy. These classes do not need to be taken in any sequence, although it is recommended participants take Foundations of Nonprofit Management first.
