If you are 50 or over, we invite you to join our Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, an exciting new community of adult learners.

Recent Accomplishments (2006-07)

  • Continuing Education offered a total of 2,705 classes serving 25,737 students (credit and non-credit enrollments) during the 2006 calendar year.
  • Launched a state-of-the-art free online learning and self-assessment website (http://RUReady.net) to help students prepare themselves to take introductory college-level math courses.
  • Facilitated the acquisition and official launch of the University of Utah Entrada Field Station and Education Center on a 400-acre ranch located on the Delores River about 35 miles northeast of Moab, Utah.
  • Forged new partnerships with academic departments to offer complete degree programs at Continuing Education's off-campus sites in Sandy, Murray, Bountiful, and Park City, as well as selected online courses through Independent Study.
  • Hosted the F. W. Reynolds Lecture, delivered by Professor Theresa Martinez.
  • Obtained a grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation to provide 25 scholarships each year to help students resume their college studies after a prolonged absence.
  • Raised over $70,000 in funds for student scholarships in Continuing Education classes and programs.
