"Did you know that Grand Teton National Park lies within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and is one of the most desirable and best-known parks in the country? Covering a total area of 309,994 acres (484 square miles) located in Northwestern Wyoming it is one of the most visited ecosystems in the national park system with a whopping 3,885,230 people visiting Grand Teton in 2021. Join Instructor, Nicole Anderson, as she takes you on a virtual journey through the park exploring the Teton Range, thought to be the youngest mountain range in the Rocky Mountains, with its formation beginning between six and nine million years ago. Learn about the small and mighty creatures that make Grand Teton home as well as over 300 different species of animals, birds, and fish; not to mention the famous Grizzly Bear 399 who has a unique history all of her own. In this course, you will learn what differentiates the Grand Tetons from other National Parks; gain an understanding of the most diverse and abundant wildlife populations in existence, and explore tall mountain peaks all from the comfort of your home."
