Instructor: LONI MANNING

LONI MANNING

Loni previously taught at the English Language Institute from 1995 to 2005 and has just returned to work on her PhD in Communications and will also teach for the Linguistics Dept. at the University of Utah. She has recently been teaching English and Debate to Native American Indian students at Navajo Prep School as well as TESOL Methods to teachers at San Juan College in New Mexico. She received an M.A. in Communications and a B.A. in University Studies from Brigham Young University (BYU); a TESL/TEFL certificate from the International Learning Centre; a teaching certificate from San Juan College; an associate degree in Fine Arts/Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts; and an associate degree in Graphic Communications/Photography from Utah Valley University. Loni taught ESL/EFL in Japan for 4 years, and taught ESL teacher training workshops in China for the ELI. She has also taught computer science, journalism, and museum studies at the University of Alaska, BYU, and Boise State University. Loni’s interests include camping, hiking, painting, photography, weaving, beadwork, gardening, singing, pottery, cooking, and many other things.
