Rick has been teaching ESL and EFL for much of the last 26 years, both in the U.S. and in other countries. He has taught in the Republic of Kiribati (in the Pacific), in West Africa, Mexico, and on the Navajo Reservation, and has been the director of two ESL programs in Utah. He has a TESOL certificate and a Masters in Linguistics/ESL from the University of Utah. He also has extensive experience as the director of various local non-profit organizations. His interests include traveling, scuba diving, sky diving, horseback riding, kayaking, home remodeling and anthropology. He has visited 70 different countries, speaks four languages and does volunteer work with refugees and immigrants in Salt Lake City. He and his wife have three children, ages 22, 17 and 14 years old.
