Join us on a rugged adventure to Australia’s Top End. On this Go Learn adventure, you will spend time learning art, music and culture from Yolngu and other Aboriginal People and exploring the beautiful national parks, rivers and wildlife of Australia’s northern region. Randin Graves, Lifelong Learning Instructor, Guest Lecturer and Performer at the University of Utah will lead this incredible journey. Randin co-managed the world-renowned Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Aboriginal Art Center and lived in the Aboriginal township of Yirrkala for five years. The trip will begin in Sydney, and provide expeditions to Darwin, northeast Arnhem Land and finally Cairns. Arnhem Land is a remote region that the vast majority of Australians will never see. Thanks to our guide who lived there, your trip will include an orientation to the history, language and culture of the region as we make our way there, to prepare you for a few days of cultural immersion with Aboriginal People. Randin’s enthusiasm for the outdoors, culture, art and music of the region is infectious and your experience with him as your guide will be one of a kind!
