Tour Leader: Randall Stewart, Ph.D.

Associate Professor Emeritus of Classics, Department of World Languages and Cultures, University of Utah

Randy Stewart, now retired, taught classical mythology and the ancient Greek language for more than 35 years (33 of which were at the University of Utah). He is a renowned storyteller, who believes that stories—ancient or modern—are the best way to explain our experience of the world. Randy would rather be on the site of ancient ruins than almost anywhere else on the planet.

Tour Leader: Taunya Dressler, Ed.D.

Taunya is a lifelong learner and lover of all things Italian. As a former guide for Rick Steves’ Europe, she has led over 40 trips to Italy and brings her expertise and enthusiasm to Go Learn. An alum of the U, she earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy, serving as Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Affairs in the College of Humanities where she designed and directed undergraduate study abroad programs in Rome. She studied Italian at the Dante Alighieri in Siena and the Università per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy and has taught English across the globe from the Philippines to Morocco, to Italy, and back to her hometown of Salt Lake City. Taunya is happiest when she has a gelato in her hand and can’t wait to share her love of all things Sicilian with Go Learn.
