Pre-Departure

Trail MarkerLike all Go Learn journeys, the adventure begins at home. For those from Salt Lake or nearby, we will organize a logistics and bike meeting in Park City. We will dedicate an entire morning and lunch to talking about the Camino, testing our bike skills, and having Fernando go over the itinerary and the significance of our pilgrimage ahead.

About the Camino de Santiago bike trip

Most pilgrims take the Camino by foot, but we cover 400 km/248 mi by bike to ensure seeing the most highlights within seven days on the Camino. Our trusted guide, Fernando, weaves his knowledge about the history of his native Spain with the astonishing European political background and the nuances of the Camino.

Along the way we will get our credentials stamped at churches, museums, city halls and even bars and restaurants. On arrival in Santiago, pilgrims bring their credentials to the Pilgrim's Welcome Office where they receive the Compostela, an official certificate of completion.

Activity levels and restrictions
This being a bike trip, a certain level of physical activity and biking skills are a prerequisite, but no land-speed records are at stake and an assistant guide as well as a driver and bus will guarantee adjustments and transportation of a variety of bikers. For those die-hard bikers, we offer extra mileage as needed. Go ahead, test Fernando! This is an Activity Level 3 trip. Learn More about our activity levels on this page.

Each evening we will talk about our daily findings and prepare for the next day's stage. These group gatherings will be social, forming a tight bond among us, but also will be highly intellectually stimulating and full of knowledge. Come share your knowledge, or simply soak up what Fernando has to offer!
