Did you know that Helper, Utah is considered one of only two art colonies in Utah? Not only is this unique area known for a rich history that goes all the way back to prehistoric times, it is also a magnet for Utah's painters, ceramicists, and sculptors. Accelerate your development as a photographer with the help of your instructor, an expert with more than five decades' experience in photography and twenty years of teaching for Lifelong Learning. From classic western building facades, antique vehicles, and mining equipment, to contemporary public art and artist studios, there's something for every photographer in this exciting half-day field trip. Class times are shooting times and do not include travel.

Class Sections For Photographing Helper: Where Utah's History and Art Converge (LLART 395)

Summer 2024 Section 1, Starting on: 05/15/2024

First class meeting is online via Zoom for class details including transportation options and meeting location. Post field-trip meeting is in person for photo sharing and critique. Students will spend at least three hours walking and standing on this field trip; please prepare and dress accordingly. Please consider bringing a suggested donation of $5 cash to support the museum. Special fee is for instructor transportation vehicle. Students will share photos via Google; please come to class prepared with a Gmail address.
