Take a deeper dive into modern dance styles from Africa with the guidance of an experienced dance professional. Your learning will focus on afrobeats as it relates to the founding countries of Ghana and Nigeria including the foundation of afrobeats (called Afrobeat, created by Fela Kuti) and how the merging of the traditional dances from these countries with modern street-style created a new style of dance. No dance experience required; all are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and shoes with non-skid soles.

This class is taught by Liz Oyeneyin-Liadi and takes place in person. All in-person interactions require mask-wearing and 6 feet of physical distancing. Special fee is for studio rental. Class is limited to 15. Registered students will be emailed location details the week of the first class. Please bring your own water bottle.
