This course is part one of a four-part series designed to provide a comprehensive education in Pilates instruction, blending theory with practical application to prepare graduates for professional certification. This part of the series will examine mat instruction extensively. Topics covered in this course include, but are not limited to: Mat I-III, Foundations of the Pilates Method, Anatomy I, Classical & Contemporary Adaptations, Sequencing & Class Design, Teaching Skills & Professional Practice, Evaluation & Practical Competencies with PMA Core Training Requirements.
This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course. Students can purchase any assigned hardcopy textbooks through our Campus Bookstore.

Students will collect the majority of required hours on their own time, with in-person instruction taking place in HPR N 118 on 5 select dates: Wed, Aug 12 5PM-8PM; Fri, Aug 21 4PM-7PM; Sat, Aug 22 9AM-4PM; Sun, Aug 23 10AM-3PM; Sat, Sept 26 9AM-4PM.
