Summer 2018 Section 1, Starting on: 05/07/2018
This course will be offered in a hybrid format and include both face-to-face and online learning activities. Before the meeting on campus, students will be required to secure their eMoney access, log on to CANVAS, and complete a number of tasks. There will be an on-campus seminar that will meet for one extended session on Thursday, May 10, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm in AEB 340. The seminar will familiarize students with basic, integrated financial planning tools & software foundational to their completion of both FCS 5550 (Capstone) and the financial planning program. Within the context of a basic case study, students will begin to apply foundational time value of money calculations using a financial calculator and will learn to formulate basic client recommendations through the application of integrated financial planning platforms common to the contemporary financial planning practice. Completion for credit will depend upon the preparation for this hybrid course, the attendance at the evening session on-campus, and the completion of assignments in the subsequent two weeks.
