Map and Compass
Academic Noncredit

Learn the basics of finding your way in the wilderness. In this seminar you will learn map and compass skills, route planning, and then spend two days hiking and practicing these skills. Course includes one classroom session and a one-day field trip.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after second day following this meeting. This class may require snowshoes for the actual orienteering portion of the class.
