Rock Climbing IV

The basic procedures involved with the activity of rock climbing will be explained, demonstrated, and practiced during this course. All skills including those associated with lead climbing will be explored, taught and managed in a single pitch setting. "Leave No Trace" skills, and associated safety skills will be taught and applied throughout the course. Students will also explore the issues and guidelines related to the management and usage of public lands as they relate to recreational use.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Fall 2019 Section 1, Starting on: 09/10/2019

Attendance at 1st class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after 2nd day following this meeting. Class meets Sept 10 only. Climbing Fri, Sat, Sun, Sept 20-22. Surrounding Salt Lake City area. Progression from the Rock Level 1, 2 & 3 courses. An introduction to multi-pitch climbing fundamentals and top site considerations will be taught and practiced.
