Backcountry Ski Guiding

Through class and field sessions, students examine resource management issues, and learn specific skills related to commercial guiding of backcountry skiers. Includes safety, consumerism, and Leave-No-Trace skills.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Spring 2018 Section 1, Starting on: 02/20/2018

Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after the 2nd day following this meeting. Class meets February 20 only. Field trip March 2-4. No camping. Backcountry ski or board in mountain terrain. All day training in avalanche, mountaineering, navigation, survival and rescue for individuals interested in guiding.
