THOMAS SOBCHACK

Tom Sobchack has an AB from Columbia University, an MA from Hunter College, and a PhD from the City University of New York. He taught English and Film Studies at the University of Utah for over forty years, co-authored two books on film, and published many articles in film journals. The film studies classes
he created in the 1970s formed the basis for the current Department of Film & Media Arts. Tom was named Professor Emeritus of Film Studies in 2002.
