The purpose of this course is to better understand the critical role of water in the settlement of the American West. Highlighted issues will include the history of the water supply, water rights, and various uses that continue to challenge and threaten western US populations, industries, and environments today. Climate change also will be discussed and how its impacts rub salt into the water wounds of the West.
