On the Trail of the West: Art of the American Frontier

This class will highlight both the art and history of the American West, along with a series of city-wide events taking place during winter of 2017-18. The course will feature curators, ochestrators, museum leaders and historians to describe their participation in exhibits like Go West! Art of the American Frontier, a Utah Museum of Fine Arts exhibition of paintings by Moran, Bierstadt, Russell, Remington and others on loan from The Buffalo Bill Center of the West, and a Utah Symphony premiere of a score to accompany the 1952 film High Noon, on the big screen at Abravanel Hall.
