Mah Jongg is a cognitive game that can improve memory and sharpen the mind. People learn to make faster decisions and make observations quickly and think in different ways. It is not only good for the brain but also good for socialization, which can often be a problem for seniors. A study in Hong Kong, published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, states that Mah Jongg is a viable option for combatting dementia without professional intervention.
