DATE CHANGE!! Old Crap, Bird Crap, Learned Crap: Ecology & Historical Archaeology of the Great Salt Lake

DATE CHANGE!! Great Salt Lake has featured prominently in the natural and cultural history of North America and beyond. Great Salt Lake nerds Chris Merritt and Jaimi Butler will talk about modern research attempts to bridge the multi-thousand year human-environment interactions. Millions of birds rely on the productive environment for breeding, nesting, and refueling during migration. Humans have a close connection to the lake as well, and we all, birds included, have a stake in the future of Great Salt Lake. Be prepared to walk 4 miles on uneven terrain. Bring water and a small pack with lunch or $10 to purchase lunch.
