Osher Special Events provide a way for members to learn about our surrounding community and to stay connected when classes are not in session. Four Osher Special Events are included in the basic membership per term. RSVP's are required, and can be done by selecting your desired event below.

In-Person Event: Bountiful Veterans Park

Join us this Veterans Day at the Bountiful Veterans Park for a special ceremony followed by a guided tour!

The Bountiful Veterans Park was dedicated on Veterans Day 2020 then turned over to Bountiful City. It was an entirely private initiative and all construction, monuments, pavers and benches were 100% funded by private donations. The Park pays tribute to those Utahns who served in all branches of the military and recognizes the service rendered by military families. The walls at the back have the names of Davis County residents who have served since the War of 1812. More names will be added on Veterans Day 2021. The centerpiece of the Park is an original bronze sculpture of Columbia by Utah artist Shari Acevado-McBride. Columbia is holding five helmets representing those worn in World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam and recent conflicts. Flags representing all branches of the military are at the Park's entrance. Our guide will offer stories of some of the service members whose names are around the Park.

It is recommended that all participants wear a face mask. In order to maintain a group size that can practice safe distancing, all participants MUST register in advance.
