An introduction to the nature of human language from the perspective of modern linguistics. Focuses on sounds, words, and sentences through analysis of data from various languages. Additional topics may include: social and geographic variation, language change through time, first- and second-language acquisition, language and culture. This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Class Sections For Study Of Language: Introduction To (PEPEC 120)

Fall 2020 Section 90, Starting on: 08/24/2020

These classes are required for the noncredit Professional TESOL Certificate. Students must first apply to the certificate program prior to registering. Students taking PEPEC classes complete all assignments and exams required of for-credit students. Contact Continuing Education for more information The course fee covers all required textbooks and course materials at a reduced cost.
