This online, self-paced course gives personal trainers a solid background in developing or starting a personal training business, and prepares them for financial management, marketing strategies, and business plan development. Techniques for effective management include standards and guidelines, facility/studio personnel management, and operational issues from a small personal training (PT) studio to managing a PT department at a large health facility. Six-week Course Outline: I. Developing a Personal Trainer Career Path and an Introduction to Business Aspects for the Personal Trainer; II. General Accounting Principles and Written Project Details and Quiz 1 Due; III.Selling and Marketing Your Personal Fitness Training Services; IV. Business and Pricing Policies for Personal Fitness Trainers and Quiz 2 Due: V. Business Administration and Management for Personal Trainers: VI. Final Exam and Written Project Due Objectives: 1. Students will gain an understanding of the process of conducting an initial analysis of the state of the fitness industry and personal training market; 2. Students will learn a structured business approach to manage and administer a personal training department or business; 3. Students will learn core business information on accounting, sales, management, marketing, and business plan development; 4. Students will be provided a template to develop a Personal Career Track for the personal fitness training profession.
