Pharmacy Technician Training Certificate
Professional Education

This online program provides exactly the skills necessary to begin a career as a pharmacy technician. Those who complete the program will receive a University of Utah Pharmacy Technician Certificate and will be prepared to pass the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) Exam.

The course, which is currently pending ASHP accreditation, connects students with an externship partner at a community pharmacy, like those at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, Walgreens, or CVS, so they can fulfill graduation requirements. Topics studied include pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, nonsterile compounding, and pharmacy law, regulations, and standards, among others.

In addition to one-on-one support from experienced instructors throughout the course and access to personalized graduate support after graduation, students will receive a lab kit, ebooks, and a PTCB Exam voucher.
