This course focuses on a holistic approach to project management. The content deals with planning, scheduling, organizing, and controlling projects--for example, product development, construction, information systems, new businesses, and special events. The course includes major topics of Strategy, Priorities, Organization, Project Tools, and Leadership. Primary class emphasis is on the project management process, people skills and tools. Project management is becoming more important in today's world. Mastery of key tools and concepts could give you a significant competitive advantage in the marketplace. The course is designed to apply foundational project management learning to real world cases. People in all levels in the organization assigned to work on projects will find this course useful. We will focus on how and why the project management process works. The program is also structured to meet the needs of those wishing to prepare for the Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP®) or the Certified associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certification examinations. The program covers most critical topics found in the PMI's A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), seventh edition and The Standard for Project Management.
