Part of the Degree Plus program, this certificate will provide students with an introduction to the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in instructional design. Topics covered include careers in ID, adult education and cognitive learning theory, ADDIE, AGILE/SAM, curriculum design, learning management systems, authoring tools and other educational technologies.

The certificate also provides instruction on working with subject matter experts, conducting a needs analysis and review the basic tools and techniques used in instructional design. Accessibility, assessments and diagnostics will also be covered. Finally business skills for instructional designers such as working in teams and project management will be discussed with guest speakers and a final capstone project will incorporate all learning objectives in a real-life ID project.

All class dates listed below are required for this Degree Plus certificate. This is a cohort-style certificate with the content building from one class to the next. A final capstone project is required at the culmination of the program. For more information, please visit the Degree Plus website.
