This seven-week, online certificate course covers issues dealing with relationships between employers and employees. Students will learn statutes such as the National Labor Relations Act, the Railway Labor Act, and other various statutes dealing with public employees. Topics to be included are master and servant, wages and hours, anti-discrimination in employment and minimum wages and maximum hours, as well as regulation of working conditions. Successful graduates will be awarded a University of Utah certificate of completion. Additionally, This course qualifies for 45 PDCs from SHRM. The Center for Legal Studies, who the University of Utah partners with to provide this course, is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
