History Through Board Gaming: World War I in the Trenches (Age 9-14)
Youth Education

Focusing on the decisive campaigns and land battles of "The War to End all Wars," the introductory-level wargame The Great War presents an overview of World War I and the history behind its key campaigns. Similar to Memoir '44, The Great War brings the epic battles of WWI to the table and teaches why crossing into the infamous "No Man's Land" was so costly for the combatants. The WWI battles will be depicted through game scenarios using historical deployment of forces (infantry, artillery, fortifications), as well as key terrain features that impacted the outcomes of each battle. The course allows students to explore the strategy and tactics of early 20th century warfare in an immersive, interactive and educational way. Co-sponsored with Game Night Games.
