Gain a new perspective of the world! Discover the art of navigation and outdoor travel while hiking in the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. Learn skills such as position locating, map interpretation, and compass orientation. Then, you will you hike several trails where you can practice your new navigational skills! Along the way you will learn about the local landscape and Leave No Trace principles. This is a hands-on experience full of excitement and exploration!

Class Sections For Outdoor Discovery: Exploration and Orienteering (Age 9-11) (YESPR 300)

Summer 2019 Section 1, Starting on: 06/24/2019

Participants will first meet on the U of U campus and will then meet at a different trailhead along the Wasatch each day. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up students at the trailhead on the following days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Directions for drop off/pick up and packing list will be emailed out a week prior to the start of class.
