Gain valuable outdoor skills including outdoor cooking, camping, and Leave No Trace principles. Discover your favorite way to recreate in this sampler-style class.   • Students who enjoy spending time outdoors and embarking on new adventures.
  • Students looking to experience a variety of outdoor recreation activities.

What You Learn:

  • Hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking basics.
  • Outdoor camping, living, and cooking skills.
  • Overview and understanding of outdoor recreation pursuits.
  • Environmental Considerations and Leave No Trace Principles.

Class Sections For Outdoor Discovery: All-Inclusive Adventure (Age 11-13) (YESPR 302)

Summer 2018 Section 1, Starting on: 06/25/2018

Participants will first meet on the U of U campus and will then meet at a different trailhead along the Wasatch each day. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up students at the trailhead on the following days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Directions for drop off/pick up and packing list will be emailed out a week prior to the start of class. Lunch is not provided.
