Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Discover fire-starting techniques, learn how to identify edible plants, and build a shelter to protect you from the elements. Learn how to create an emergency action plan and become familiar with first aid supplies and techniques. You will also explore the beautiful Wasatch Mountains and practice Leave No Trace principles. Get lost in all of the fun and test your survival skills in this action packed class! Co-sponsored with Mountain Education Development.

Class Sections For Outdoor Discovery: Safety and Survival (Age 12-14) (YESPR 305)

Summer 2018 Section 1, Starting on: 07/09/2018

Participants will first meet on the U of U campus and will then meet at a different trailhead along the Wasatch each day. Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up students at the trailhead on the following days: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Directions for drop off/pick up and packing list will be emailed out a week prior to the start of class. Lunch is not provided.
