Beginning Fencing (Age 8-11)

Get your pulse racing with the martial art made famous by Jack Sparrow, Zorro, and even Yoda. Cut to the chase and learn the footwork, bladework, and etiquette of Olympic saber fencing. Discover defensive moves and how to trick your opponent by fencing with master teachers. Co-sponsored with Salt City Swords Fencing Club.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn the basic rules, footwork, bladework, and etiquette of fencing
- Learn different fencing strategies
- Work in a supportive and cooperative team environment
- Develop coordination, balance, confidence, and decision-making skills

Fall 2023 Section 2, Starting on: 09/23/2023
This is a 2 week course held at Salt Lake City Swords Fencing Club, 3536 S W Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84115.. Athletic footwear and clothing is required (no sandals, flip flops, crocs, or boots). Bring a water bottle.
