Game Design: First-person Action (Age 12-14)
Youth Education

Experience a world through the eyes of a video game character! Learn the fundamentals of game design as you develop a first-person perspective game, much like Call of Duty and Minecraft. With basic programming and animation, you can build paths to follow, obstacles to avoid, and pick-ups to power-up your character. Leave with a prototype you can continue to run with and share with your family and friends. Co-sponsored with Utah Division of Games.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Experience learning Unreal Engine software
  • Program essential game mechanics
  • Learn fundamentals of first-person game development
  • Demo other students' projects to provide constructive feedback
