Osher Special Events provide a way for members to learn about our surrounding community and to stay connected when classes are not in session. Four Osher Special Events are included in the basic membership per term. RSVP's are required, and can be done by selecting your desired event below.

In-Person Event: Reading to Dogs

Reading to a dog? You bet, through the R. E. A. D. Program with Intermountain Therapy Animals (the dogs actually look at the books). The mission of this program is to improve literacy skills of children through the assistance of registered therapy teams as mentors. The organization began in Salt Lake City and now has 6000 R. E. A. D teams in the US and 25 countries. Please join us for an amazing look at this program and how it is helping so many, one dog and one child at a time. Statistics indicate if a child learns to read by the fourth grade they will be able to read for the rest of their lives. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Thursday, May 23
