What is it about the English countryside—why is the beauty so much more than visual? Why does it touch one so?

Trafalgar-SquareWelcome to London! Our first hotel, the Rockwell Hotel, is perfectly located at historic Earl’s Court tube station, making it the perfect launching place for adventures across the city of London. The day is young when we arrive, thus let’s explore the city together! We start with a history-focused walking tour through Central London and then an unforgettable visit to Churchill’s War Rooms. We have a welcome dinner in Covent Garden at the fabulous Wahaca Restaurant. Then we will send our weary travelers to bed for a well-deserved rest.

PoldarkThis day is dedicated to Poldark, the Masterpiece series located in stunning Cornwall. Out local guides know every nook and cranny of this part of the Cornish coast, and have driven the cast of Poldark from location to location. They are filled with behind the scenes stories and anecdotes. The all-day excursion visits filming locations and follows the footsteps of Ross Poldark’s adventures after returning home to Cornwall from the American Revolutionary War, attempting to restore his fortunes. We’ll finish our day with a social hour and learn about the history of Cornwall during the time of Poldark.

Port IsaacWe are headed for Port Isaac, known to us as Port Wenn, the home of our favorite misanthrope, Doc Martin. The series Doc Martin enjoyed overwhelming success and has been filmed for 9 years in Port Isaac, making many locals extras in the series, and firmly placing the town on the map as a must-visit filming locale. We will spend a leisurely morning exploring this seaside gem and discovering our favorite scene sights. In the afternoon we’ll head to Charleston, the port of tall ships seen on Poldark where we’ll have time to try a Cornish Cream Tea or pasty.

Chavenage HouseToday we leave Truro and head for the Cotswolds stopping first for a tour and tea at Chavenage – known to us Poldark fans as Trenwith, the Poldark family home occupied by George and Elizabeth Warleggan. Known for its beauty, it is now the home of a landed English family since the time of Oliver Cromwell. We will have a private guided tour of the house learning all about its history and provenance and the many BBC shows filmed there. We finish the day by checking into our hotel in the Cotswolds.
